David Brinton started as a BMX rider, which gave him great leg speed that took him to track cycling. Brinton rode almost all types of bike racing, including road races, mountain bikes, and on the track. At the 1987 Pan American Games he won a gold medal in the team pursuit and a silver medal in individual pursuit. After the 1988 Seoul Olympics Brinton went back to mountain biking, riding in the 1990 World Championships, and on the NORBA circuit.
Brinton did some work as a stuntman for movies, appearing in over 120 movies, commercials, and television shows. He doubled Kevin Costner for stunts in “American Flyer” and Kevin Bacon in “Quicksilver.” Brinton also worked as a cycling coach and later returned to racing in masters’ competition.
