Shelly Stokes was a catcher who helped United States’ teams win golds at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the 1998 World Championships, the 1995 Super Ball Classic, and the 1995 and 1999 Pan American Games. Stokes played in college at Cal State Fresno (Fresno State), and later played for the Fresno Force in the Amateur Softball Association. While at Fresno State she led the team to the College World Series for four straight years.
