José Jaime Galeano competed in track cycling at both the 1968 and 1976 Olympic Games. He won bronze in the road race at the 1971 Pan American Games and silver with the 4000 m pursuit team as well as bronze with the road time trial team at the 1975 Pan American Games. He was primarily known as a sprinter, winning 14 stages of the Vuelta a Colombia. Galeano won the 1970 Central American and Caribbean title in the road race. He rode for Canada Dry, Royal Dessert, Red Eagle, and Licorera del Valle in a professional career that last from the 1960 to 1980.
