Biography

Cyclist Peter Glemser won the 1962 West German Madison championship. He then became a member of the mixed German 100 km time trial team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, which finished 14th. Only one year later he turned pro and placed second at the West German road championships. In 1966 he won the “Around Köln (Cologne)” tour and the 1967 Tour de l’Oise. In 1968 Glemser won the individual pursuit on the track and rode the Tour de France. The next year he won two West German pro titles, one on the track in the sprint, and one in the road race, before he retired after the 1970 season.
