Morgane Suquart was the masked rider on horseback who rode along the Seine to deliver the Olympic Flag to the military officers who raised it on the flagpole. Suquart was the co-founder of the Breton company MMProcess, specializing in foils and racing boats, designer of the machine propelled on water, who held the reins of the mechanical horse. Previous reports had mentioned that it was Floriane Issert, a Gendarmerie non-commissioned officer, who rode the mechanical horse, but this was apparently in error. Issert did, however, appear just after, on a real horse then on foot, to cross the Pont d’Iéna to the Place du Trocadéro and deliver the Olympic Flag to be raised in front of the Eiffel Tower.
