Biography

Cyclist Richard Katzer finished the 5000 m, 20 km and the 100 km track races at the 1908 London Olympics with unknown results. He was also eliminated in the sprint heats. Together with Hermann Martens, Max Götze and Karl Neumer Katzer won a silver medal in team pursuit. He was a member of Sport Cycling Club Berlin 1888. Katzer started his track career in 1906 at Wrocław. In 1907 he moved to Berlin to join SCC Berlin. Several prizes fell to his lot, when he rode both as a sprinter and in motor paced events, one of them being the Golden Armlet of Chemnitz.
