Ted Kerridge started riding for Walwoth Ivy CC in 1920, and after moving to the Catford Cycling Club, finished second in the Catford 5-mile Championship in 1923. That same year, he led the NCU London Centre 10-mile Championship on the final banking, before being overtaken and eventually edged out of second place by inches. However, he was the 10-mile champion in 1926, and in 1928 narrowly missed out on the National 5-mile Championship, losing to Harry Wyld in the closing 100 yards. Two months later, Kerridge was selected for the Great Britain Olympic squad for the Amsterdam Games and, despite being selected as a reserve for the 1,000 metre sprint, he came into the team in place of Harry Wyld, and finished a commendable joint sixth. He was also one of the six nominated riders for the 4,000 metres team pursuit, but did not make the final four chosen to ride.
