Rugby union player Josaia Raisuqe joined the Fijian 7’s national team in 2015, and later that year signed with the professional club Stade Français. He was with the team until 2017, when he was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman while drunk and released from the team. In 2020, he was fined and received a suspended sentence of six months in prison for the crime. Nonetheless, he was picked up by USON Nevers soon after the incident and remained with them through 2021, then joining Castres Olympique. In 2022, he was with Castres when they lost the French championship to Montpellier Hérault Rugby.
In 2024, Raisuqe was selected to represent Fiji in rugby sevens at the Paris Olympics, where his team won the silver medal after losing to France in the final. The following year he was working on a contract to join Club athlétique Brive Corrèze Limousin, but was killed when his car was hit by a train on a rail crossing.
