Biography

Soviet cyclist Viktor Logunov was a multiple sprint champion during the 1960s. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics Logunov and Imants Bodnieks won the silver medal in the 2,000 metres tandem. Logunov also finished in ninth place in the 1,000 time trial at the Tokyo Games. In 1964 Logunov set a world record in the 500 metres sprint, and from 1966 to 1968 he won five national titles in tandem and sprint events. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Logunov coached the Unified Team in the velodrome.
