Aage Myhrvold was in the resistance during World War II. The French underground asked him to help smuggle scientists and Jews out of Germany by training them to ride bikes and putting them on his training rides in the Pyrenees and leading them to safety. Myhrvold was eventually captured only to escape by jumping from a train.
