After the Berlin Olympics, Franz Neuens turned professional. His biggest palmare was winning the Tour du Lac Léman in 1938. Neuens rode the Tour de France three times – 1937-39 – placing 37th in 1938 for his best finish. He also competed in the Tour de Suisse several times with a best placement of 27th in 1938.
