Biography

San Marino made its début at the Olympics at the 1960 Games in Roma with a delegation of nine athletes sent to compete. Salvatore Palmucci was one of four cyclists to represent the nation, with him competing in both the individual road race and the 100 kilometres team time trial. It was tough going for the San Marino cyclists in both events, with Palmucci the only one of them to finish, placing 40th in the road race.
