Biography

In the early 1950s Danish cyclist Jørgen Frank Rasmussen won several amateur races to earn himself a place at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. At the Games, Rasmussen finished 19th in the individual road race, just over eight minutes behind the race winner. After the Olympics he won the team classification on the track at the Nordic Championships in 1953 and 1955, along with a stage at the 1954 edition of the Tour of Egypt. His older brother Rudolf competed in the road race at the 1948 London Olympics.
