Austrian cyclist Karl Schmaderer took part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was a member of the 4,000 metres pursuit team that lost to Germany in their heat. Schmaderer rode with Post SV Wien (Vienna). Nationally, Schmaderer won the 1934 and 1935 mountain race, the 1937 road race and the 1945 points race. In 1949 he won the motor-paced cycling race at the cycling stadium of Wien (Vienna).
