Jerome Steinert was from Hicksville, Long Island and rode for the Hicksville Athletic Club. He placed fourth at the US Olympic Trials in 1912. Steinert was the son of Judge Joseph Steinert, who was a long-time Democratic leader and the town supervisor of Oyster Bay, Long Island.
