Biography

Road cyclist Johann Summer from Austria participated in the road race at the 1972 München Olympics, placing 46th. He was also on the Austrian teams in the 100 km time trial races at München and also at Montréal in 1976, and Moscow 1980 when the teams finished tenth, 15th and 13th, respectively. In 1977, Summer won the Austrian national road race title.

Summer also participated in several stage races such as the Lower Saxony Tour and the Austria Tour. In 1979 he won the national pairs time trial title with Rudolf Mitteregger. Summer’s son Jochen became a professional road racer.
