Jamsrangiin Ölzii-Orshikh began competitive cycling in 1983, joining the Mongolian national team three years later. During his career Ölzii-Orshikh won multiple national titles in junior, youth, and senior races, in addition to setting eight national records. In 1992 he was part of the Mongolian team that competed at the Barcelona Olympics, riding in both the individual road race and the 100 kilometres team time trial. A veteran of multiple international competitions in Asia, Ölzii-Orshikh won silver in the individual time trial at the 2001 Asian Cycling Championships in Taiwan.
