French sportsman Robert Varga had a brief career as a track cyclist in the 1960s. Varga was selected to compete for France in two events at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He finished tenth in the 4,000 metres individual pursuit after losing his first-round heat to Stanislav Moskvin (URS). He was also part of the quartet that rode in the 4,000 metres team pursuit where the French team lost again to their Soviet counterparts.
