Biography
Steffen, son of Wolfgang Wesemann, finished 30th in the individual road race at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He was born in East Germany and won the International Peace Race five times (1992, 1996-98, 2003). Wesemann was considered a classics specialist, as he was most successful in the spring classics in Belgium and France.
In 2005, Wesemann received Swiss citizenship and rode for them thereafter, but with less success. By profession, he became a truck driver.
