Biography

Élie Blanchard was from Montréal and played only briefly for the Winnipeg Shamrocks, returning to Montréal after the Olympics. In 1902, he graduated from the École Polytechnique in Montréal. He worked as an engineer in Manitoba in 1904 and in 1905 he became chief engineer for the city of Saint Henri and when this city was annexed to Montréal, he remained in the public works personnel for Montréal. In 1915 he was appointed in charge of the roads and sewer division for Montréal and in 1918 he was made superintendent of the roads department. 1930 he became Chief Engineer and Director for Public Works.
