André Seeldrayers was born in a family with a long history in the arts, with his grandfather Emile being a notable painter and his father Fritz being a notable architect. His family was also heavily embedded in the Belgian sporting world, with father being active with the national field hockey federation and his uncle Rodolphe Seeldrayers being a sports journalist, football administrator, and later the president of the Belgian Olympic Committee and FIFA.
André Seeldrayers, a native of Bruxelles (Brussels), was a longtime member of the Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles and mainstay of the national team, receiving 63 international caps during his career, including as member of the 1928 Olympic team which finished fourth in the tournament held in Amsterdam. Outside of sports, Seeldrayers followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as an architect.
