Biography

Joseph Roffo won a silver medal in tug-of-war at the 1900 Paris Olympics. He also competed in épée fencing in 1900, both while a member of the Racing Club de France. In athletics Roffo was French scholastic champion in the 1896 100 metres, and also finished third in the French federation championships that same year in the 100. Born in Paris in the 10th arrondissement, Roffo lived his entire life in the city. Roffo’s career was as an engineer in arts and manufacturing.
