Adolf Hammacher’s career span the period from 1903-34. He had his best years in 1911 and 1922, winning, amongst others, the championships of Thuringia (1911) and Bremen (1912). At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics he was entered in the men’s singles and – together with Paul Lindpaintner – in the men’s doubles, but did not play in either event.
