Doug Cadwalader was from Springfield, Illinois, and played his golf at the Springfield Country Club. In the 1905 team golf event, there were six entrants, but only two teams showed up. Several of the players on hand that day decided to form a team, which, since they were all from USGA member clubs, loosely represented the United States Golf Association. Cadwalader organized this team and was its captain, and, with 84-84, had the second low score individually in the team event.
