A member of the Exmoor CC in Chicago, Ken Edwards played for the Western GA team in the 1904 team event. Edwards was a good amateur player, but just a notch away from being top ranked nationally He three times played in the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur, winning only one match – that in 1908. But he twice finished 72 holes in the U.S. Open, finishing 26th in 1904, and 33rd in 1914. In addition he was medalist at the Western Amateur in 1907 and 1908 and was runner-up in that tournament in 1917 – to Francis Ouimet.
