Ed Graff came from San Francisco and attended Cal/Berkeley. He played the position of hooker on the 1924 Olympic rugby team. In 1932 he was instrumental in convincing his old school to revive rugby as a varsity sport, and Graff took over as the coach in the first years of its revival.
