Biography

Alan Williams started college at Cal/Berkeley in 1911 but later transferred to Cornell and remained there from 1912 until 1915, studying civil engineering. He later returned to the West Coast and played rugby with the Olympic Club of San Francisco. He worked as an engineer, mostly with the Northwestern Pacific and Western Pacific Railway Companies, and with the engineer corps during the First World War. He was also instrumental in forming the San Francisco Old-Timers Athletic Association.
