French field hockey player Jean-Paul Capelle was part of the national team in the late 1960s. In 1968 Capelle competed at the Mexico City Olympics, playing in the group matches against Malaysia and Great Britain. His younger brother Gilles was also a hockey player who represented France at the 1972 München Olympics.
