Alan Page was captain of the Great Britain hockey team that finished joint 11th at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. They failed to make the classification round after finishing fifth in their group with just two wins, against Japan and Zimbabwe.
Page spent his entire club career at Beckenham and in addition to winning Great Britain and England honours, he won representative honours with Kent, London, The South, and the Hockey Association. Page toured India and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the winter of 1963/64 with the GB squad and in 1964 and 1965 captained Kent as they became the first back-to-back winners of the county championship. He was still playing club hockey at the highest level beyond the age of 50. Page was appointed an international selector for indoor hockey by the Hockey Association in 1973.
