Biography

Bruce Trentham first played hockey at Bilton Grange Preparatory School, Dunchurch, before going to the nearby Rugby public school where he excelled at many sports, notably lawn tennis, rackets, cricket, hockey, rugby, and cricket.

Trentham then attended the Dartmouth Naval College and passed out in 1966. He spent more than 25 years serving in the Royal Navy and left with the rank of commander and was in charge of some notable vessels including HMS Invincible. Trentham represented the Navy at several sports and in 1968 was allowed time away from the Navy to play for the Great Britain hockey team Mexico Olympics. Unfortunately, they finished a disappointing 12th out of 16.
