Hermann, brother of Wolfgang End, played at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic hockey (field) tournament with West Germany, losing the bronze medal match against India, 2-1. East and West Germany played their only international match in a preliminary round, with West Germany winning 3-2. Hermann End was capped 15 times between 1962 and 1969. Domestically he played with Nürnberger HTC, where he later became a board member.
