Biography

Charles Oguk played hockey as a defender for Kenya at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was a star from his schooldays at Kisumu Boys High School and was recruited to play for the Simba Union Hockey Club and later for the renowned Kenya Police team in 1988. After his 1994 competitive retirement, Oguk worked in law enforcement, as a corporal at the Ahero Police Station in Nyando, Kisumu County.

Besides the Olympics Oguk played internationally at the 1987 All-African Games, where Kenya finished first; the 1991 All-African Games in Egypt, where Kenya won a silver medal; and the 1995 All African Games. He also played six times at the Indira Gandhi International Gold Cup Hockey Tournament in India.
