Singaporean hockey player Douglas Nonis represented Malaysia at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Nonis was one of four Singaporean players on the Malaysian team and was the only one to play in any matches at the Olympics. In Malaysia’s pool match against Canada he scored one of the goals in their 3–1 win. Malaysia finished the Olympic tournament in joint-ninth place along with Great Britain. Nonis also competed in the hockey tournaments at the 1962 and 1970 Asian Games.
