Pam Bustin

Pam Bustin played hockey (field) at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Bustin was a 1990 graduate of the University of Massachusetts where she led the Minutemen to the NCAA tournament all four years, and the national semi-finals in 1987. Internationally, Bustin played on the US junior team in the late 1980s, helping them win a silver medal at the 1989 Pan American Junior Championships, after which she moved up to the senior women’s team. She played on the US National team through the 1996 Olympics.

Bustin then went into coaching, as head coach at Hofstra University in 1997. She had coached while she played, as an assistant at Temple from 1990-92 and Michigan State from 1992-97. In 1998 she moved to the University of Louisville, where she spent 13 years as head coach. In December 2010 she was named the head coach at Duke University, where she led the Blue Devils to the Final Four twice in the next eight years, including a runner-up finish in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

Bustin was inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2012 she was inducted into the U Mass Hall of Fame.
