Mike O’Brien graduated from Williams College in 1925 after having played on the baseball team there for four years. He was captain of the team in his senior year. O’Brien should have graduated in 1924 but missed an entire year with a severe case of typhoid fever. After college he became a bonds and securities broker, first in New York, later nearer his home in Boston. Besides his bronze medal winning performance as a fullback in 1932, O’Brien was also player-manager of the 1936 Olympic field hockey team.
