Fencer Helga Gnauer was Austrian foil team champion in 1955 (when she was known as Helga Zuber). In the individual foil championships, she finished second in 1955 and third in 1957.
Gnauer was selected for the 1960 Rome Olympics. She was eliminated in the first round of both the individual and team foil events. In 1957 she won a team bronze at the World Championships.
