Biography
Fencer Maria Grötzer was Austrian foil champion in 1958 (representing Wiener Fechtclub). She was also Austrian team foil champion with Union Fechtclub in 1955 and 1956, and with Wiener Fechtclub in 1959. Grötzer was then selected for the 1960 Rome Olympics. She was eliminated in the second round of the individual foil as well as in the first round of the team foil event. In 1957 she won a team bronze at the World Championships.
