Jun Liang competed in foil fencing at both the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. Jun won international medals in various competitions in team foil, including a bronze at the 1990 World Championships, two golds at the Asian Games in 1990 and 1994, and two medals at the Universiade: silver in 1991 and bronze in 1995. She was a five-time Chinese Champion.
Jun retired after the Atlanta Games and moved to the USA where she became an assistant coach at Penn State University from 1998-2002. In 2003 Jun relocated to Alexandria, Virginia where she served as a coach at Olde Town Fencing Club. Jun later returned to competition and was on the winning foil team at the 2013 US Championships.
