Fencer Ernst Baylon was Austrian individual foil champion in 1928 and 1930, and was runner-up in 1925, 1929, and 1936. He participated in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics with the foil team eliminated in the second round. At the 1936 Berlin Games the team then placed an unfortunate fourth. Baylon also acted as a referee in Berlin.
At the 1931 and the 1937 World Championships, Baylon won bronze medals with the Austrian foil teams and added a silver in 1933. He was a medical doctor by profession.
