Biography

Franz Dereani was an Austrian fencer who participated at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He was eliminated in the first round of the individual foil. However, in the individual sabre competition, he finished second in his pool in round one to Béla Békessy, but was a non-starter for the quarter-final pool. Coincidentally, Békessy was the joint-winner of Dereani’s pool in the foil event.
