Karel Goppold z Lobsdorfu was the son of Bohemia’s most successful pre-World War I fencer, Vilém Goppold z Lobsdorfu, Sr. and his wife Marie, owner of a haberdashery in Praha (Prague). Together with his father and his older brother Vilém, Jr., Karel competed in the 1912 Olympic Games. He was eliminated in the quarter-final of his only event, the men’s épée individual.
Karel Goppold z Lobsdorfu committed suicide in 1956.
