Henri Delceller studied in Paris and at the Victoria School in Montréal. He attended McGill University, where he competed on the rifle team from 1921-23. His hobby was music which he pursued throughout his life, serving for many years as a member of the Mount Royal Hotel Orchestra and the Ottawa Philharmonic. Delcellier was also a colonel in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces.
