Emma Cooke of the Potomac Archers finished second to Lida Howell in both Olympic events in 1904. It was a common occurence for Miss Cooke as the only national titles she won in target shooting came in 1906 when Mrs. Howell did not compete. Emma Cooke also won the flight shooting national championship in 1902 with a distance of 190 yards.
