Fencer Volker Duschner placed seventh with the West German sabre team both at the 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 München Olympics. Individually he was eliminated in the first round in 1968. Domestically he won two silver medals in 1970 and 1974, and also four bronzes, in 1969, and from 1971-73. By profession, Duschner became a teacher in sports and geography and taught at secondary schools in Koblenz, Sinzig, Bonn, and finally Tauberbischofsheim.
