Dennis McComak grew up as a “carnie barker,” or a lifelong carnival worker. He is the only known US Olympian with that profession. McComak attended Kansas State University, graduating in 1974 with a degree in biology. He competed at the 1972 World Field Archery Championships after the München Olympics.
