Edward Weston was a respected medical doctor in a Chicago suburb, practicing obstetrics and gynecology, practicing in Highland Park, near the University of Chicago. He was an avid archer, which led him to compete in national championships and the 1904 Olympics. His son, Edward Henry Weston, became a renowned photographer, considered “one of the most innovative and influential American photographers” and “one of the masters of 20th century photography.”
