Biography

Antonio Allocchio only competed in the preliminary heats of the team épée event at the 1920 Antwerp Games, which the Italian team narrowly survived. Then, without Allocchio, the Italian team won five times in the final pool.

In 1924 Allocchio sought qualification for the Paris Olympics. He competed in various trials but failed to gain selection, and his competitive career ended. He remained in the fencing world for a long time, as a referee and judge, and officiated at the 1928 Amsterdam Games

In 1920, along with Cesare Bacchini, Allocchio founded “Allocchio Bacchini & Co.” based in Milano, specialising in the production of electrical measuring instruments and equipment for telegraphy, radiotelephony, and wireless telegraphy. His company became one of the largest electronics companies to produce radio sets in Italy.
