Bettina Fulco

Bettina Fulco was an Argentine professional tennis player who was a clay-court specialist. Fulco achieved a career-best singles ranking of 23 in the world in October 1988, and a doubles ranking of 62 in the world in November 1991.

Fulco began to play tennis when she was 10 after an increased interest in the sport in her home country due to the success of Guillermo Vilas. She was one of the best junior players in the world, appearing in the final of the Orange Bowl under-18 tournament and reaching number two in the junior rankings. Fulco won her first ITF singles and doubles titles in 1986 and went on to win her first WTA doubles title in 1988. Her best Grand Slam singles performance also came in 1988 when she reached the quarter-finals at the French Open. Later the same year she played in the singles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics but lost in the first round to Barbara Paulus.

After retiring from the sport Fulco became the director of a tennis school in her home city of Mar del Plata. She also coached multiple players including Vika Azarenka, Kateryna Bondarenko, and Angie Widjaja.
