Thomas Marshall was a member of the Paris Golf Club (Société de Golf de Paris) from the late 1890s, and most of his golf was played in the Paris area, and he entered the individual event at the 1900 Olympics held in the city, although he did not actually take part.
Marshall was also a keen artist and produced a variety of works, including caricatures, some of which were to be seen hanging on the walls the Paris Golf Clubhouse at LaBouilie. Marshall was also on the “commission du terrain” and made regular trips to England to select the best grass for golf course use.
