Edwin Hulin

Edwin Hulin was involved in boxing for most of his life and spent nearly 40 years as secretary of the Battersea Boxing Club. A respected referee and judge, Hulin acted as judge in four contests at the 1908 London Olympics, including the bantamweight final between Harry Thomas and Johnny Condon, and the lightweight final between Fred Grace and Fred Spiller.

Hulin served on the committee of the Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) for many years and in 1926 succeeded Val Barker as ABA secretary, a position Hulin held at the time of his death in 1929, at the age of 63. The year before his death, Hulin was the manager of the GB boxing team at the Amsterdam Olympics. Thanks to a bequest in his will to the ABA, it enabled them to get their own permanent premises.
